India's Top 10 Software Companies In 2013

India ranks among the IT Superpowers of the world. Some of the biggest IT companies are operating from Bangalore, Karnataka. By 2016, India's It industry is expected to reach Rs. 1.75 lakh crore mark. In 2011, the domestic IT industry was over 99,700 crore. Since the 2008 disastrous recession period industry witnessed slow hiring which led to further slump in the market. Now every major IT company has started hiring. It is the only service sector, where youth can jolly make their career.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)

TCS is indeed India's best IT services, consultancy, and business solutions firm. The IT power house has more than 238, 583 employees as per latest available data. TCS BPO is India's second largest player in the outsourcing industry after Genpact. Recently, TCS ranked fourth in the list of most powerful IT services after IBM, HP and Accenture by Brand Finance. Tata group ranked the world's 39th most powerful brand. Natarajan Chandrasekaran is the current Managing Director (MD) of TCS. The company managed to generate revenue upwards of US$10.17 billion in the year 2012.

Wipro

Most of us link Azim Premji with Wipro; after all, at the age of 21, he took over the reins the iconic software company. In 2012, Wipro took the second spot as India's most prestigious IT services companyMr. Premji remains as the Chairman of the company. TK Kurien is the Chief Executive Officer of the Bangalore headquartered based IT Company. In 2012, the company managed to generate revenue upwards of US $7.30 billion.

Infosys

Co-founded in 1981 by Philanthropist N.R Narayan Multhi and Nandan Nilekani ; the major IT services firm now stands third most respected in terms of revenue. Some of the biggest firms of the world prefer Infosys, one such company is Harley-Davidson. Every major survey ranks Infosys among the biggest IT brand. There are approximately 155, 629 assets (employees) working for Infosys. The Bangalore headquartered IT firm tuned $7 billion in revenues last year. K.V Kamath is the current chairman of the firm.

HCL

HCL is the fourth largest IT services brand in India. Based out of Noida, Uttar Pradesh; the IT major .Apart from IT services and well- managed BPO, the IT firm has now ventured into tablet devices. Shiv Nadar is the Chairman and CSO while Vineet Nayar is the Joint Managing Director, of the HCL technologies. In 2012, the IT firm clocked revenue upwards of $ 4 billion.

IBM

US based IBM (International Business Machines Corporation), is the most cherished IT brands known to mankind. It is the only firm having maximum number of patents to its name. Even its employees have fetched Nobel Prize as well. A many as 433, 362 employees work for IBM worldwide. As per 2011 data, its revenues were access of 106.916 billion.

Accenture

Accenture is basically sees management consulting, technology services and outsourcing, as its strength. More than 257,000 employees spread over 120 countries work for Accenture. Pierre Nanterme is the CEO of Accenture. As many as 89 clients of the Fortune 100 companies take advantage of company's outsourcing services.

Sri Lankan - American Kumar Mahadeva is the co-founded Cognizant Technology solutions. The IT solutions firm is quite active in India as well. As per latest data, the company tuned revenues of $7.35 billion in 2012.

iGate Patni

iGate Patni has over 15,000 employess working at the moment. Formerly known as Patni Computer Systems, the IT firm is now a subsidiary of iGate Corporation. The company managed to pull revenues of $ 400 million in year 2012

NIIT

NIIT technologies Limited, is one of among the IT service providers in India. Some of the managed services include: Application Development and Maintenance, Managed Services, IP Asset or Platform Solutions, and Business Process Outsourcing to organizations in the Financial Services, Travel & Transportation, Manufacturing/Distribution, Healthcare and Government sectors. The firm is based out of Noida, Uttar Pradesh. There are more than 7, 882 employees working of the company. In 2012, the IT major managed to bring revenues of $220 million.
