International Porn Websites Difficult To Block Says Central Government
The central government reportedly has approached Supreme Court saying, it would be difficult to block pornographic websites in India. Back in April, Chief Justice Altamas Kabir issued a notice to the government in compliance to a plea made by Indore-based advocate Kamlesh Vaswani.
According to a Petition filed by Vaswani - children now had easy access to pornography on the internet and there was a need to block such websites in order to stop crimes against women. Fallowing the plea, the notices were ministries of Information and Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Home Affairs and Internet Service Providers Association of India.
The government was suppose to come up with an answer for the issue on 12 th June. It replied that it would require more time to discuss the mater with different ministries. The court reacted saying "It is a serious issue and government must act. How long does it take to call the meeting of concerned people?". It has given the government an extra four weeks to work on the issue.
In case the ban is implemented, theater business could boom big time, it won't even be a surprise to see a lot of pirated DVDs being sold on the streets, or maybe people will find some proxy sites that could let them by-pass the block measures. People always find a way don't they? Is there a point to all of this? Let us know on what you think, in the comments section bellow.
