Sony Xperia Aquatech: World’s First Underwater Store Is Open Now

"The best way to predict the future is to create it." As the adage goes, Japan based Sony Corporation has lived up to it. Innovation has always been a key point for Sony, and now the company has moved it forward by launching an underwater store in Dubai.

Named as Xperia Aquatech, it is a concept store located 4 meters under the sea and only lucky competition winner and VIP can visit. Due to bad weather, the launch is delayed, but it will be open only for three days.

"Sony Mobile has always been about elegant and premium design, with the Xperia Aquatech Stores, we wanted to put Sony's pioneering waterproof technology on its smart devices at the forefront in a manner that would deliver an unforgettable experience to guests and fans in a visually, and emotionally powerful way," said Spyros Gousetis, director of marketing at Sony Mobile Middle East and Africa.

Those lucky contest winners will be escorted by trained diving instructor, and those who owned Xperia Z3 or Z3 compact, Sony ensured that they take their device in special waterproof material, since it doesn't support waterproofing beyond 1.5m.

In the store, Sony representatives provided demo for the Xperia devices.
