Tata Docomo, the mobility and business services brand of Tata Teleservices, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive partnership with GMR Airports, a global leader in creating world class private airport infrastructure. The step has been taken to offer high-speed Wi-Fi services at Indira Gandhi International Airport-Terminal 3, Delhi, and Rajiv Gandhi Hyderabad International Airport, Hyderabad.
As mentioned in the company's press release, passengers transiting through the airport will be able to access the free Wi-Fi services for a specified time, after which the passenger can continue to avail Wi-Fi services by paying for it online. This service allows international passengers to connect to the Wi-Fi services by using their relationship with their home mobile/broadband service provider.
Commenting on the exclusive partnership, Prateek Pashine, president, SME business, Tata Docomo, said, "Delhi and Hyderabad airports are known worldwide for their superior infrastructure design and best in class experience zones, whereas Tata Docomo is globally renowned for innovative service and high quality network. Bringing these together creates an unbeatable experience for our customers. Tata Docomo has a pan-India hotspot presence along with a global network of 1.2 million hotspots with our partners. With these services, we are targeting domestic and international travelers who increasingly need connectivity with higher speeds across multiple devices."
On the other hand PS Nair, CEO, GMR Airports concluded by saying, "We are pleased to associate with Tata Docomo which is setting new benchmarks in the telecom space. Wi-Fi is an integral part of the airport experience and we feel offering 45 minutes of free Wi-Fi to the passenger will be a feat that Indian and international players will find difficult to match. We are confident that Tata Docomo's high speed service will delight the customers and be a positive step towards achieving our goals of becoming the world's leading airports in our passenger categories."
