Software services firm Tech Mahindra Ltd have announced that they have acquired the lab assets of Sony Mobile Communications AB in Sweden, but have not disclosed terms of the deal. The company intends to be the best mobile testing solutions provider in the world and this acquisition must help them in that cause.
The Type Approval Lab in Lund in southern Sweden was a partition of Sony Mobile Communication's internal test function with a multi-million-dollar infrastructure

"The Lund facility will now provide us a strategic lab presence for EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and for our customers looking to launch their products in the EU (European Union) and rest of the world," He added.
Bengt-Arne Molin, Sony Mobile's senior vice-president and manager of the Lund laboratory, said, "The transfer of the Type Approval Lab assets was a strategic move as we continue to focus on our core competency of software development here at our Lund centre."
Molin added Tech Mahindra's expertise in the testing field should make it a strong choice for "positive mutual opportunities" in the future.

Tech Mahindra will be taking over the Swedish labs and it's employees, said company's spokesperson to livemint.
