Vodafone Intros Roaming Packs for PrePaid Subscribers With Attractive Incoming Call Rates

In order to maintain its customer momentum and to survive in the competitive business, Vodafone has strategically taken a move on Tuesday. The telco has announced a new national roaming plan for its pre-paid customers.

With this plan, the prepaid Vodafone subscribers will receive incoming calls while on roaming at 30 paise per minute all over India. However, the outgoing rates are comparatively very high at 1.5 paise per minute for both local and STD, for all local and STD calls in roaming.

The cost of the new roaming plans will vary from state to state and is supposed to range between Rs 26 to Rs 47. Delhi customers will also enjoy plan at two price points and those will be Rs 21 and Rs 42.

The plan is launched in the event of the oncoming holiday season, when people plan to go on vacations and this plan will help them enjoy the affordable calling rates while they are in roaming. SMS, data roaming and ISD roaming will be having the standard rates. The plan will be available with the roaming incoming benefit of 30 days and tariff validity of 180 days as per current information.

All the customers in Vodafone circles, except those in Himachal Pradesh, Orissa and Jammu and Kashmir will be able to reap benefits from the plan.

While announcing the scheme, Vivek Mathur, Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone India said, "Vodafone has always been a pioneer, when it comes to enabling customers to enjoy a superior connectivity experience at affordable rates. We are pleased to present this new scheme, empowering our pre-paid customers with better value in terms of tariff and location options. The new national roaming plan has been specially created for those who tend to travel a lot on a regular basis. They can now talk more without worrying about high roaming costs.
