BSNL Offers Unlimited Data With No Data or Speed Limit To Combat Rivals

BSNL introduces unlimited data plan with no data or speed limit giving a tough competition to other telecom operators of the country.

BSNL had earlier announced that the company is set to introduce unlimited voice calls in 2017 to take on the other telecom operators of the country, especially Reliance Jio.

Reliance Jio chief, Mukesh Ambani on December 1 announced the extension of the existing Welcome Offer until March 31, 2017, calling it the Happy New Year offer.

Although the new offer will be providing unlimited services, Reliance Jio has put a few limitations on the new offer when compared to Welcome offer.

To counter attack Reliance Jio, BSNL is said to have rolled out a new 3G data plan for its prepaid users. Whereas, not to forget, the company also plans to introduce unlimited voice calls starting 2017.

BSNL Introduces Unlimited Data Pack With No Data or Speed Limit

BSNL has said to have introduced a new data plan named STV 498, which will provide the prepaid users with unlimited 3G data with no data limit, unlike Reliance Jio's Happy New Year offer.

Difference Between Jio's and BSNL's Unlimited Data Plan

Reliance Jio will be offering Happy New Year offer starting January 1, 2017, which will offer free 4G 1GB data per day after which the users are required to recharge to enjoy the high-speed internet. However, BSNL's new unlimited data plan offer 3G data but has no data cap as compared to that of Reliance Jio.

Another key difference between the two is that BSNL's unlimited data plan is valid for 14 days starting from the day of recharging, whereas, Reliance Jio is valid for 3 months starting January 1, 2017.

According to reports, in the entire Indian telecom industry, BSNL is the only network offering absolutely unlimited data packs with no data cap or speed limitations.

It is said that the telecom operator is all set to counter attack the new entrant Reliance Jio and its free services, along with the other telcos.

Other Similar Unlimited Data Plans by BSNL

Earlier in this year in August, BSNL had introduced a similar plan like STV 498 called STV 1099, which offers the same unlimited 2G/3G data without any data or speed limit valid for 30 days.
