It appears as if the war between the telecom operators in India is about to get uglier by day. Every alternate day, one or the other telco is introducing new tariff plans to keep up with other operators and more importantly to dethrone Reliance Jio from where it managed to position itself in the short span of its existence.

BSNL, the state-owned telco has launched a promotional offer yesterday, which provides its prepaid users with double data benefits at the same price.

"Four new Data STVs have been launched on festive season on pan India basis with validity of 365 days with double data offer from October 10 to 31 October 2016," one of the BSNL's statement read.

How does it compare against other operators

On the other hand, Airtel at similar price for the base plan (Rs. 1,498 plan), is offering only 5GB of 4G data while Reliance is offering 20 GB of data. In comparison, BSNL is way ahead of Airtel but, slightly lags behind Reliance Jio's offering.
