Reliance Jio announced the Happy New Year Offer on December 1, 2016 and as per this offer, users can enjoy the free services provided by the network until March 31, 2017.
Eventually, the Welcome Offer that became effective on September 5, 2016 will end today as its 90-day promotional period is over. According to TRAI, no service provider can offer any promotional offer for more than 90 days and this is the reason that Reliance Jio came up with the Happy New Year Offer as an extension to the Welcome Offer.

Any new user who gets the Jio SIM after today will be eligible to enjoy the Happy New Year and not the Welcome Offer. There is not much difference between these two promotional offers. Anyways, with the end of Welcome Offer, the Reliance Jio service has been offered to users since three months and here we have come up with the interesting facts about the service.

The Reliance Jio network required an investment of Rs. 150,000 crore. Eventually, Mukesh Ambani termed the network as the world's biggest startup in March 2016. A few days back, there were reports that the Reliance Jio service has created a record by acquiring 50 million users in a span of just 83 days that is the first time in the history of the telecom industry. Apparently, ever since the Jio service was launched on September 5, 2016, the network has added 1,000 subscribers per minute. What took Airtel around 12 years and Vodafone around 13 years, took just 83 days for Reliance Jio! We say this as Jio took just 83 days to get 50 million subscribers. Jio continues to be the country's fastest growing telco in India as well as the world. Moreover, this network as 5 times more number of 4G users than those on Airtel, which is a leading telco in the country. Notably, Airtel has around 10 million 4G subscribers and Idea has just 3 million 4G subscribers. Keep in mind that Jio is operating with an aim to add 100 million 4G users by March 2017.
