Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi launched the Mi Band in India for merely Rs 999, which is quite an appealing price point. However, it is neither a very fancy band, nor does it bring very gimmicky features. The band, in fact, lacks a display as well. All it knows is to monitor your physical activities and sleeping patterns, and count calories burnt, which it performs very well. You can use the Mi band with Mi Fit app, on Android devices as well as Apple iPhones and iPods. Also, the band can track your walking route using the GPS of the phone. What else do you want for that price!

Goqii is a fitness band that combines the goodness of useful features with a nice design. The USP of the band is that it comes with a personal coach feature, using which you get a personal trainer who provides you services on the basis of subscription you opt for. The trainer helps you set your fitness goals and diet plans, and create a fitness regime for you. The band is capable of counting steps taken, distance covered and calories burnt, and monitors your sleeping habits as well as other health-related habits like water consumption and more. The band costs Rs. 2,399, and the subscription comes for Rs 3,999 for three months - Rs 11,999 for one year.

Those on a budget can also consider the Jawbone Up Move smartband. It does not come with a built-in display, but can track a user's activity and show the data through a smartphone app. The band is capable of counting steps and monitoring sleep. The best part is that this can be worn either as a clip-on or in a wrist strap.

One of the well known fitness wearable maker, FitBit is new in India, in the sense that you can now directly buy it in the country.

The company's FitBit Charge HR is an all-purpose fitness tracker that comes with an LED display and features control buttons.

Apart from tracking steps, distance, speed and calories, it can also monitor your heart rate. And the best part is that it is water resistant as well. Though, for this band you will have to spend Rs 12,990 in India.

Garmin's VivoFit 2 is another entry eve activity tracker that you may want to consider buying. Like the Jawbone Up Move and Xiaomi Mi band, this one too lacks a touchscreen and notifications support.

The device can count time, steps, calories, and distance, and comes handy when you want to use a stopwatch. The smartband can be bought for Rs 5,890 in India.
