LG G Watch R Receives Firmware Update, Now Supports Wi-Fi Option

As promised, LG has added the Wi-Fi support on the LG G Watch R through its latest firmware update. With this update, now users can receive notifications and other updates on their watches. This update is available as Over the Air (OTA) and will reach the users in upcoming week.

Apart from this, the device will also get support for interactive watch faces from Google Play Store. Now the users can make get translation for multiple languages or having say a four day weather forecast.

Reiterating the specifications, Watch R is a 1.3-inch Plastic OLED display (P-OLED) with a resolution of 320 x 320-pixel resolution. The watch uses 100 % of the display, claims LG.

With a suite of LG health and fitness apps, users can also monitor their heart rate with the support of the embedded photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor

The G Watch R is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor, coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage. The device offers a 410mAh battery fitted inside. The watch is designed to run for up to 30 minutes in one meter of water, thanks to IP67 ratings
