TomTom today launched the TomTom Spark GPS fitness watch with an integrated music player. Users of TomTom Spark don't need a smart phone while working out. The TomTom Spark can carry upto 500 songs. The fitness watch streams music to a range of Bluetooth headphones and comes preloaded with Running Trax, a thirty-minute mix of upbeat dance anthems from some of the world's best DJ's curated by the 'Ministry of Sound'. The TomTom can also be paired with the iTunes or Windows Media player.
Peter Frans, Co-Founder of TomTom says that an internal study conducted by the company resulted in finding out that people often listen to music while they work out and this is what prompted TomTom to come out with the wearable. TomTom solved the problem by integrating a music player into the TomTom Spark GPS fitness watch.
TomTom is also the same company that provides navigation routes and maps to cab hiring companies like Uber and others around the world. Steps, active minutes, distance, calories burned and sleep duration can be tracked 24/7 with activity tracking feature in the TomTom spark. Users can track daily and weekly goals and follow progress on their watch or via the TomTom MySports app. The built-in heart rate monitor accurately tracks heart rate. Using the multi-sport mode users can track all their indoor and outdoor sporting activity including running, cycling, swimming, treadmill and gymnasium workouts.
