Sennheiser IE 800 S headset launched: The finest from the company
The new Sennheiser IE 800 S in-ears come with improved acoustics and an updated look.
Sennheiser, a German audio company specializing in the design and production of a wide range of high fidelity products, is yet again expanding its range of In-Ear (IE) headphones. As such, the company has just launched a new headphone dubbed as IE 800 S.
As per the company, the headset features a new design and improved acoustics. While the shape is quite similar to the original Sennheiser IE 800 in-ear headphones the new headset does make some improvements in terms of look. The S version is now much sleeker and more appealing. The headphones now come in a matte black finish on top of the ceramic casing.
Looks aside, IE 800 S comes with a refined version of Sennheiser's proprietary 7mm Extra Wide Band (XWB) drivers. Sennheiser promises an even higher amount of clarity and minimum distortion. Besides that, the new IE 800 S in-ears is said to use the company's patented dual-chamber absorber (D2CA) which will enable the listeners to hear even higher frequencies.
As far as other features go, users can find an impedance of 16 ohms and the headphones offer a frequency response of 5 - 46,500 Hz. They also come with a maximum sound pressure level of 125dB at 1Vrms.
Additionally, Sennheiser is providing Comply-made, ergonomically designed viscoelastic memory foam ear tips with the IE 800 S. Unlike the original IE 800, which only included a standard 3.5 mm cable, the IE 800 S also comes with choices of cables that includes a 4.4 mm Pentacon cord and a 2.5 mm balanced connector, allowing you to use the best-quality cord for the situation.
The headphones are priced at $999 (roughly Rs. 65,000) and will be made available for purchase later this month.
