Nu Republic Cybotron SPIN Power Bank Review: A Versatile Travel Companion with a Fun Twist
Smartphone batteries capacities have been on the rise in 2024. But it isn't just size, mobile chips have also begun placing a major emphasis on power efficiency, allowing us to reach the point where a vast majority of smartphones easily pass the full-day battery test.
However, during my recent trip to Bali, I realized that large batteries and power efficient chips simply don't cut it. After underestimating the importance of power banks for years, I finally realized their importance during the trip. Nu Republic recently sent over the 10,000 mAh Cybotron SPIN Power Bank.

Performance & Specifications
First off, let's talk about the specifications of the Nu Republic Cybotron SPIN power bank. The power bank packs a 10,000 mAh battery, which was enough to hold little under two full charges of my Vivo X100 Pro (Review). It was also enough to fully power the OnePlus Pad (Review) I took along the trip.
Apart from the battery capacity, the Cybotron SPIN power bank also features three ports, a lightning input to charge the power bank, a USB Type-C input/output, and a USB Type-A output. There's a power button on the front, while the LED indicator displays the battery percentage. Lastly, the Cybotron SPIN also supports magnetic wireless charging.

The power bank supports 22.5W wired charging with the aid of the USB Type-C port, which was pretty fast for a compact power bank. Additionally, it also had excellent wireless fast charging capabilities, maxing out at 15W. The charging speed on the power bank impressed a couple of friends rocking the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 Pro.
Additionally, the multitude of ports also means you can charge two devices simultaneously, using both the USB Type-C and Type-A ports. Despite powering both the Vivo X100 Pro and Vivo V40 (Review) simultaneously, the Cybotron SPIN power bank showed no signs of heating up thanks to the overcharging and overheating protection.

Not only does this protect the 10,000 mAh battery in the power bank, but it also ensures your smartphone or tablet cell isn't damaged from overheating. Overcharge protection, on the other hand, can be quite useful for those who charge their devices overnight.
Design
The Nu Republic Cybotron SPIN power bank is quite portable, weighing 185 grams and measuring 20mm thick. The overall build quality of the power bank feels sturdy, despite its plastic chassis. The metallic grey finish coupled with a fidget spinner on the top give it a unique look, something we don't see on your average run-in-the-mill 10,000 mAh power bank.

The fidget spinner perfectly complements the power bank's design, although it serves no purpose other than a means to pass the time. The lightweight and compact design of the Cybotron SPIN makes it an essential travel companion. The only downside here is that wirelessly charging the phone flat on the table will cause it to spin around.
Final Thoughts
During my trip to Bali, there were two separate instances where I realized the importance of having a power bank that can do it all. And yes, the Nu Republic Cybotron SPIN can indeed do it all when it comes to powering up your mobile devices. With a price tag of Rs 2,499, it isn't quite as affordable as most 10,000 mAh battery.

But I found myself in multiple scenarios where the Cybotron SPIN's wireless and wired fast charging came in clutch. So if you are looking for a versatile power bank with an edgy design and an integrated fidget spinner, then the Nu Republic Cybotron SPIN is definitely worth considering. I'd recommend it for premium smartphone users, if you don't mind your phone spinning around as you charge it wirelessly.
