Rapoo P101 Qi2 Power Bank Review: Easy Magnetic Charging In A 10,000mAh Package

Magnetic power banks are one of those accessories you don’t really think about until you start using one regularly. Once you do, it’s hard to go back to the old wired setup. Instead of carrying a cable and a battery pack that dangles from your phone, you just snap the power bank onto the back and let it charge.

That’s the idea behind the Rapoo P101 Qi2 Wireless Power Bank. It’s a 10,000mAh battery pack with Qi2 wireless charging and magnetic alignment, meant to give you a quick and easy way to top up your phone during the day.

I spent some time using it with my iPhone 16 Plus and the Pixel 10 to see how it performs in everyday use.

4.0/5

Simple Design, Good Build

The first thing I noticed was the build quality. The P101 uses a soft matte plastic finish, and it actually feels pretty nice in hand. There’s no glossy coating here, so fingerprints aren’t really an issue.

The unit I tested was the white version, and it looks clean and minimal. Nothing flashy, just a simple design that gets the job done.

Inside the box, you get the power bank itself and a USB-C to USB-C cable, which is good to see. A lot of accessories skip the cable entirely these days, so including one is a small but useful touch.

The power bank weighs around 190 grams, which is reasonable for a 10,000mAh unit. On its own, it doesn’t feel heavy, but once you attach it to your phone, you’ll definitely notice the extra weight.

With the iPhone 16 Plus, especially with a case on, the setup becomes noticeably thicker. The power bank itself measures 16.96mm, so yes, it adds some bulk to the phone.

Still, I’d take this over carrying a wired power bank and dealing with cables hanging around in my pocket.

Magnetic Charging That Just Works

The Rapoo P101 supports Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W, and the magnetic alignment works well.

You place it on the back of the phone, and it snaps into position. I didn’t really have to adjust it or move it around to get charging started.

With the iPhone 16 Plus, the experience was smooth. Charging started immediately and stayed stable during the session.

For context, the iPhone 16 Plus supports up to 25W wireless charging, so the P101’s 15W output is technically lower than what the phone can handle. But that’s actually normal for power banks.

Most magnetic wireless power banks today top out at 15W, which is currently the standard for Qi2 and MagSafe-style battery packs. Newer Qi2.2 chargers are beginning to push that limit closer to 25W, but those are still fairly rare right now (and the phone would also need to support that standard).

The Pixel 10 also supports up to 15W wireless charging, so on paper, the power bank matches it perfectly.

Charging The Power Bank

Charging the power bank itself took just under three hours in my testing.

I tracked one charging cycle using the LED indicators on the side:

  • 1:23 PM – Started charging (1 bar flashing)
  • 3:20 PM – Three bars filled, fourth flashing
  • 3:44 PM – Four bars filled, fifth flashing
  • 4:15 PM – Fully charged

The P101 supports 18W input charging, which helps refill the 10,000mAh battery relatively quickly.

The LED indicators are simple but useful. A quick glance tells you how much battery is left, so you’re not guessing whether the power bank still has charge.

Charging the iPhone 16 Plus

This is where the power bank felt the most reliable.

The iPhone 16 Plus snapped into place magnetically and started charging immediately.

Here’s how one of my charging sessions went:

  • 3:47 PM – Charging started at 23%
  • 4:20 PM – Battery reached 38%
  • 5:50 PM – Battery reached 65%
  • 6:46 PM – Battery reached 80%

Wireless charging obviously isn’t as fast as plugging in a cable, but the process stayed stable the whole time.

Once attached, the phone just kept charging without interruptions.

Charging the Pixel 10

Things were a bit different with the Pixel 10.

The phone would start charging normally, but after a few minutes, the wireless charging session would sometimes stop. When that happened, I had to press the power button on the power bank to restart the charging.

At first, I assumed the issue was with the power bank. But after looking into it, the behavior appears to be tied to the Pixel 10 itself.

Several reports suggest the Pixel 10 can behave inconsistently with certain wireless chargers or third-party accessories. The problem seems to come down to how the phone negotiates charging with the charger during the initial handshake.

If the Pixel doesn’t fully recognize the charger, it may fall back to a very conservative charging profile. Sometimes that just means slower charging speeds. In other cases, the charging session can stop altogether.

That suggests the inconsistent behavior is more related to how the Pixel 10 handles certain wireless chargers rather than a fault with the Rapoo power bank itself.

A detailed breakdown of the issue is explained in this report.

Wired Charging Is Still An Option

If you want faster charging, you can always switch to wired.

The USB-C port supports Power Delivery with up to 22W output, which is useful when you need a quicker top-up.

The same port also charges the power bank itself, so there’s only one port to deal with.

I also tried charging my tablet using the cable, and it worked without any issues.

Verdict

The Rapoo P101 is a good magnetic power bank. The build quality feels solid, charging is reliable, and the 10,000mAh capacity makes it a practical everyday backup. At a box price of ₹2,999, it sits well within the Qi2 power bank category.

However, if you’re using a Pixel phone, I wouldn’t recommend it right now since the wireless charging wasn’t consistent in my testing.

For everything else, though, it works perfectly fine.
