CES 2026: LG Revives Wallpaper TV With Wireless Video, 9mm Thin OLED Design
LG is revisiting its Wallpaper TV concept at CES 2026, nearly a decade after first introducing the ultra-thin design. The new model, called the OLED evo W6, keeps the same core idea but updates it with wireless connectivity and newer OLED hardware.

Still Extremely Thin, With a Practical Focus
The OLED evo W6 measures in the 9mm class, which keeps it among the thinnest TVs LG has made. The company says this was achieved by reworking the internal layout and reducing the number of components inside the panel itself.

LG has also adjusted the wall mount so the TV sits flush against the wall, instead of leaving a small gap. In practice, this makes the TV look more like a fixed panel or frame rather than a traditional display mounted on brackets.
How the Wireless Setup Works
The biggest functional change is how connections are handled. Instead of ports being built into the TV, LG uses a separate Zero Connect Box. All external devices plug into this box, which can be placed elsewhere in the room.
The TV receives video and audio wirelessly from the box. LG says the signal supports visually lossless 4K transmission, which allows the panel to stay thin without relying on visible cables. The idea is straightforward: keep the display clean, and move the clutter somewhere less noticeable.
Changes to Picture Quality and Processing
The W6 uses what LG calls Hyper Radiant Color Technology, which is meant to improve brightness, color handling, and black levels while also reducing reflections. The panel is paired with Brightness Booster Ultra, allowing higher luminance compared to older OLED models.
To manage image processing, LG has introduced the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3. The processor handles noise reduction and detail preservation in parallel, rather than prioritizing one over the other. In theory, this should result in a more balanced image, especially with compressed content or mixed lighting conditions.
Gallery Mode and Gaming Support
Like other recent LG OLED models, the Wallpaper TV includes Gallery+, which turns the screen into a display for artwork, photos, or ambient visuals when not in use. It’s positioned as an optional feature rather than a core function.
For gaming, the TV supports a 4K 165Hz refresh rate, along with NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility, AMD FreeSync Premium, Auto Low Latency Mode, and a 0.1ms response time. These specs align with what LG already offers on its higher-end OLED TVs.
Smart TV Features and Personalization
LG’s webOS platform continues to be the software foundation here. Features like Voice ID allow the TV to switch user profiles based on who’s speaking, adjusting recommendations and apps automatically.
LG has also expanded its AI-based assistance tools for content discovery and on-screen information, while keeping user data protected through its built-in security framework.
Pricing and Availability
LG hasn’t shared pricing or availability details yet. For now, the OLED evo W6 stands as a design-led option in LG’s 2026 OLED lineup, aimed at users who care as much about how a TV fits into a space as how it performs on paper.
