Apple is out in the open once more with a brand new iOS update hitting users. dubbed iOS 8.1, the brand new update to the platform is an improvement over the previously released iOS 8 with more new fixes on the cards.
To be perfectly honest, since its inception, iOS 8.1 actually became a sought after update since iOS 8 had its own set of problems. But with the iOS 8.1, there are new features, updates made to already existing ones, apart from some much needed bug fixes over 8.0.2.

Forget all the problems you had with the iOS 8 since iOS 8.1 fixes the issue where disconnected wi-fi was experienced when users connected to different base stations. There issues have been laid to rest with the new update.
Fixed Screen Rotation
There used to be a bug in the previous iOS which caused screen rotation to sometimes stop working. While the problem was even faced by the owners of the new iPhone 6, the new update effectively removes all such issues.
There is now an option to enable Dictation in Settings for Keyboards that has also been added in this iOS release. In fact, this comes separate from Siri.
End of Bluetooth Plight
With the arrival of the previous iOS 8, there were widespread complaints that an iPhone's Bluetooth would not be visible on another device's Bluetooth radar. But these issues have now been fixed.
With the upgraded iOS 8.1 platform now in place, HealthKit apps can access data in the background without any kind of user intervention.
First thing first, the Camera Roll feature is back again. To loacte it, head over to your Photos app and My Photo Stream album when iCloud Photo Library is not active. You could also check out the iCloud Photo Library which is now available as a beta service for users.
Better Networking Capabilities
With iOS 8.1, there's now the option to choose between 2G, 3G or 4G LTE networks for cellular data and voice connection. And if you think this isn't a big deal, do remember to keep a check on how less the battery is being consumed for this action.
Better Messaging Capabilities
With the new update, iOS users can now send and receive SMS and MMS text messages from their iPad, iPod touch and Mac. And all this thanks to the features introduced into OS X Yosemite and iOS 8. Also, read messages will now be marked as read.
Improved Update Feature
There was a issue with the iOS in the past that prevented the use of OS X Caching Server for iOS server. This problem is a thing of the past now.
You will be happy to know that with the new update, stability and audio quality have been improved (when using MFI Hearing aids). Also a bug that would stop video playback on the Safari browser at times has now been fixed.
