Apple's iOS, apart from Android from Google, is one of the top mobile operating systems on the planet. Both Android and iOS have made their marks with the world currently divided on who's better than whom.
Keeping the discussion limited to iOS for the time being, Apple recently released the brand new iOS 8.1 as an upgrade over the previously released iOS 8. And it's already been pushed out by the developer for download.
But while the new iOS is a big deal, there are a few hidden tips and tricks that every user should know about. Here are the top 5 among them.
Switch Back to 2G
Apple has added the ability to control on what network you want to keep your phone. The feature came back with the new iOS 8.1. You can now chose if you want to keep your phone on 2G or 3G connections. You can even change to LTE network for voice calls.
Play With Camera Brightness
If you didn't know this, now you can change the brightness for more clear pictures in the Camera App. Just tap on the screen to focus the camera at a point. From there, increase or decrease the brightness by sliding your fingers up and down for the perfect shot.
Dimming Effect
Here's a hidden trick that will make it easy to instantly dim your screen anytime you want. Go to Settings -- General -- Accessibility -- Zoom -- Enable Zoom. Tap the screen quickly with three fingers three times. Press ‘Choose Filter' -- ‘Low Light', then set Zoom Region to "Full Screen Zoom." Next, Settings -- General -- Accessibility -- Accessibility Shortcut -- Set to "Zoom."
Grouping Photos
iOS 8 has a favorite image option that is displayed as a heart logo when viewing an image. Just tap the heart logo on image you want to group under this folder.
Siri's New Trick
Siri has been upgraded, and how. The upgrade Apple calls "Hey Siri" is a feature that can be activated from the Siri Settings Menu. Hey Siri lets you activate Siri without even activating the screen and later pressing the Home key. Just go to Settings App -- General -- Siri and activate the Hey Siri feature.
