Google introduced a new Google Drive plugin for Microsoft Office on Windows, which expands the reach of the Microsoft's services further. With this announcement, Google Drive can now be used from Microsoft Office.

Microsoft's Office was already available on the desktop, web, as well as on all mobile platform. Google Drive, on the other hand, is cloud-storage service that can be use to save, edit and share important files in one place. With this new Drive plugin tool, users will now be able to open Microsoft Office files, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents, saved in Drive, and can save them back after making changes to the files. Additionally, they will also be able to save local files directly to Drive.

Microsoft Office for Windows can now sync with Google Drive

Recently, Google also made it possible to launch desktop applications directly from Google Drive.

The Google drive plugin should be available to be used for all Windows users from today, be installing the updated version of the app.
