Sony's android phones are all set to receive the new software updates in near future with the company already receiving the certification for the same. There is no specific information available about the firmware release but it has been certified by PTCRB.

The cheaper version Sony Xperia J (ST26i) has the firmware version 11.0.A.7.5. This has already been approved. The best feature surrounding the version is its powerful battery so it is truly a value added product for the users. In addition, the screen touch factor is very responsive and has attractive design with its weight kept under check.

The Xperia V (LT25i) has the firmware version9.0.D.0.457 as certified by PTCRB. However, this is not the latest version for this particular device and the software is based on android 4.0.4. The same is expected to be launched by Jelly Bean on the handset sometime later this year. This particular smart phone is a superfast LTE HD smart phone and is water resistant.

This is the biggest level of water resistance for any smart phone. It is designed for speed and also stays fast in the lane. The phone is sleek and durable and appears smart too. The users can download applications to the phone and run it with no effort. The new software updates to be launched for these versions of smart phone would only make them smarter for the users.

Version 6.1.E.3.4. of the older Xperia ion (LT28h) has also recently received a firmware certification. Unfortunately, for Sony's older Xperia models, updated in 2011 and earlier, Android 4.0.4 will be the end of its era. However, the company has said it would not upgrade versions beyond Ice Cream Sandwich, and prefers supporting the existing products with firmware upgrades.
