Telegram’s Latest Update Adds Liquid Glass for iOS 26, AI Bot Threads, Live Reactions, and More
Telegram just dropped one of its biggest updates yet, bringing a mix of visual polish, personalization tools, and smarter AI interactions. The update adds 12 new features that touch nearly every part of the app—from how your chats look to how you talk to bots and even how you remember your contacts.

A Shiny New “Liquid Glass” Look on iOS
If you’re on an iPhone, you’ll instantly notice Telegram’s redesigned interface. Inspired by Apple’s latest iOS 26 design language, the app now uses subtle translucent layers called Liquid Glass.

The keyboard, navigation bar, and sticker panel gently blur as you scroll, creating a fluid, glass-like feel. It’s not a complete overhaul, but it makes the app feel more alive and in sync with Apple’s evolving UI style.
Small Touches That Make Chats Feel More Human
Telegram’s new Notes for Contacts feature lets you write private notes about the people you chat with—like how you met, what they do, or even small details you don’t want to forget. These notes stay hidden from everyone else and appear only on your side of the contact’s profile.
There’s also a thoughtful new Suggested Birthdays option. You can now suggest or add birthdays for your contacts, and Telegram will make it easy for others to celebrate with gifts or messages when the day arrives.
More Ways to Customize Your Profile
Premium users get even more tools to make their profiles stand out. Telegram now lets you pick custom color schemes or use digital gifts as decorative backdrops on your profile. Some collectible gifts even unlock unique reply styles or link designs, adding a little flair to your messages.
If you’ve linked a Fragment account, your verified blockchain gifts can also appear on your profile, showing proof of ownership for the collectibles you’ve received or bought.
Smarter AI Bots and Threaded Conversations
Bots are a big part of Telegram’s ecosystem, and this update gives them a major boost. You can now chat with bots using threaded conversations, so multiple topics stay neatly separated instead of turning into one long scroll of confusion.

AI-powered bots can also send streaming replies, responding in real time instead of waiting for a full answer to generate. It’s faster, more natural, and makes interactions with chatbots feel more like talking to an actual person.
Developers can now set up paid subscriptions for their bots too, opening new ways to build and sustain premium AI experiences inside Telegram.
A Better Way to Send and Receive Gifts
Telegram’s gift interface has been simplified into one clean list where you can see all available items, including limited-time collectibles from the marketplace. Prices for certain gifts drop over time, and if you’d rather stay anonymous, you can remove your signature using Telegram Stars.

It’s a small ecosystem in itself—complete with its own rewards, collectibles, and even resale value for certain digital gifts.
Group Calls Now Feel More Alive
Telegram’s group calls and video chats can now include live comments and emoji reactions. You can send a quick thumbs-up or drop a short comment that appears briefly on the screen for everyone to see. It’s a more natural way to interact during meetings or community chats without interrupting the flow of conversation.
Reporting Bugs Just Got Easier
Telegram also launched a mini app for reporting bugs and submitting feature suggestions directly within the app. Instead of heading to a website, you can now share your feedback in a few taps, streamlining how users connect with Telegram’s development team.
