BBM Service for Windows Phone Beta Officially Released

Here's some good news for you if you are a proud owner of a Windows Phone-based device. According to reports, owners can now download the beta version of the popular BBM application.

While owners have now been signalled that they can download the beta version of the popular BBM application, it is to be noted that the user will have to make sure that he or she already signed up for the testing program last week.

According to a latest WPCentral report, the updated software will now offer BBID Setup and Log-in features for Whitelisted BBIDs, the option to create a BBM profile, and even the ability to invite a contact to chat.

Other capabilities of the app are 1-to-1 & Multi-person Chat, Contact Categories, Manage Settings, BBM Groups and more. Moreover, BlackBerry also released the updated software with notifications and in-app "splats" based on new content. This will now allow users to access them in Feeds or in Contacts when a message has been received.

The BlackBerry Messenger application was made available for free for Windows Phone users previously. But with the beta testing now, a limited number of Windows Phone users can grab the application for the time being.
