    A version 2 update for Facebook Messenger for iOS is now available for download. The new version supports iOS6 and therefore is compatible with iPhone5.The new version comes with added functionalities. Using this version you can see who is available and send a message to them by swiping left anywhere in the application. This application will also automatically add friends who you message most to the top of your favorites. The design has also been improved in this latest version. The conversation section now looks more attractive. Moreover the app also promises improved speed and reliability.

    Earlier reports suggested that Facebook Messenger for iOS and Android are being modified and integrated with features like pointing out a message than has been read, while the contact is typing. The other feature which was expected is that users can see the name of the town from which a message has been sent. To enable this feature user will have to turn on location services. Facebook has also launched a Facebook Messenger application for earlier versions of Windows. When the app was first launched on March this year, it had only support for Windows 7 operating system. Facebook users can now avail the service of Facebook Messenger right from their desktops running Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems, as well.

    A notable feature of Facebook Messenger app for iOS is that it allows users to chat with friends without signing in to the Facebook website. Using the app users can accept new friend requests and also know when they are tagged in photos. The app can be downloaded from here.
