Popular social media service Facebook is ever-growing and ever-evolving, and so is its official app for both Android and iOS. And now it seems like the company has pushed out yet another update for its Android and iOS offerings.
Apparently, Facebook has not one but new two updates for its mobile offerings. While Facebook for iOS got new additions to its Nearby Friends feature, the Android version of it was also treated with offline posting.
As far as the iOS version of Facebook is concerned, the company only posted that today's update included "improvements for reliability and speed." However, TechCrunch did a bit of investigating and found two new updates for Nearby Friends.
Apparently, in the US version of the app, the social network service has added search and invite friends buttons. But we are guessing that the update is now available globally, although the nearby friends feature still might take a bit of time before it reaches you.
"Facebook may be attempting to grow Nearby Friends quickly in an effort to box out its new direct competitor Foursquare Swarm," Tech Crunch wrote.
"After I asked, Facebook confirmed that these new features exist, but that it only puts things in What's New if they're available to everyone. Nearby Friends is still rolling out and is US-only."
