Facebook will be bringing a new privacy feature that will allow users to delete data the social media platform has collected from sites and apps that use its analytics tool. This means users will be able to delete their browsing history. It's a good move, but it will surely make the experience less personalised.

This feature is a result of the lawsuit Facebook faced regarding the data harvesting by the firm. Users were not happy when they learned that the platform is collecting their personal data to push ads.

FaceDate

Facebook announced it is working on a dating service which will be launched soon. A dating service from Facebook makes absolute sense; in fact, it's surprising how the company didn't start the service earlier. Most of the major dating apps such as Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, Coffee Meets Bagel, and Feeld ask users to connect to Facebook to create a profile. If Facebook starts a dating service, it would eliminate the other apps.

There isn't much information about the new service available right now, but Zuckerberg's statement was enough to send the stock of Match Group down by 18 percent. Match Group owns the popular dating apps Tinder, OkCupid, and Match.com.

Instagram Video chat

Instagram will be getting the video chat feature soon. The app will also get a new filter that protects users from bullying comments. Additionally, enhancements to the Explore tab will also be seen in future update.

Besides, the app is also said to be testing a bunch of new feature such as reaction to Stories, slo-mo recording within the app camera and a mute button.
Oculus Go

Facebook's cheap standalone VR heaset is now on sale. The device is priced at $199 for the 32GB version, while the 64GB variant costs $249. It's easy to use, just stick your phone and enjoy the VR experience. Facebook seems to have doen a good job with the VR headset, and finally users have an option apart from headsets from Samsung.

VR memories and 3D photos

Facebook has introduced 3D illustrations and models to the News Feed. The tool will also turn 2D photos into VR memories. With the new feature the social media giant wants to stay ahead of the content trends and be the go-to platform for future formats.

WhatsApp reaches 450 million Stories users

WhatsApp Status, the Snapchat-inspired feature has reached 450 million daily active users. This is well over two times the whole user base of Snapchat. Additionally, the app is also getting a group video calling feature.

While WhatsApp continues to grow at a rapid pace, Snapchat saw its slowest user growth rate ever. Snapchat failed to grab the market share globally, resulting in WhatsApp climbing on top of the ladder.

Sharing Facebook and Instagram Stories from other apps

Apps like SoundCloud, GoPro, and Spotify will allow users to share Stories directly on Facebook and Instagram. This is Facebook's effort to make Stories more interesting compared to Snapchat. Also, this new feature will open new gates for music discovery, something we have seen on Myspace.
