Aurus 3G Android smartphone was launched at the Idea Cellular"s press conference today. In the event Idea 3G TV app was also demonstrated. The app can be downloaded for free from Google play store. The app allows users to enjoy more than 100 live TV channels. Idea is also promoting the scheme through a special introductory offer. Idea 3G TV service is free for 3 months with Aurus and other smartphones from Idea.

Users using other smartphones can avail the service at Rs.99 month. This package includes most of the channels however some of the premium channels are absent like the sports channels. Users can avail these premium channels at an extra cost.

One of the most interesting features of this app is that it gives users access to an extensive list of regional channels including Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Kannada etc. The app works only with Idea cellular network. Streaming charges are free with Mobile APN. The app is compatible with Android 1.6 version and above. Some of the popular live channels which can be accessed through this app include:

• Entertainment channels: Star plus, Star One, UTV Movies , UTV Bindass, Sony TV, SAB TV, etc


• Regional Channels: Asianet , Kairali, Manorama News, etc
