iModi: An app for Narendra Modi
Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat gets an iOS app. iModi, the app in the iTunes App Store is dedicated for him. He is the first Indian political leader to get an app for himself on the iOS platform. This will be available for both iPhone and iPad.
Modi's app can be downloaded for free from iTunes. It was released on March 29th 2012. It will offer a platform for his followers on the social media to keep track of all the unfiltered messages by him and his government.
As of now, the app is maintained by the administrators of Modi's official site. It offers news on the policies and programme implementations of the Gujarat government. It also offers multimedia elements like videos of his speech. The users of the app can send direct messages to Modi right from the platform.
The Gujarat government has utilized technology for good purposes in several other aspects of governance. They are the pioneers to invoke a technology that keeps track of the dropout rates in the schools. The tech savvy team of Modi has been using the power of the social networks like Twitter and Facebook to send their messages. He also has a separate YouTube channel for all his speeches.
