Instagram Now Lets You Reorder Carousel Posts After Publishing: Here’s How

Earlier, once you posted your photos and videos in an Instagram carousel, there was no way to change their order. However, Instagram now lets you reorder carousel posts even after publishing. This means you no longer need to delete or re-upload your post – you can simply rearrange the photos and videos in the carousel.

The update works for any existing Instagram carousel on your profile. You can move photos and videos to new positions or remove items you no longer want to show. The original post stays live, so likes and comments remain, which avoids losing engagement. Here's how it works.

How to Edit an Instagram Carousel After Posting

Step 1: Open Instagram and go to the post whose order you want to change the order.
Step 2: Tap the three-dot menu at the top of the post.
Step 3: Select the Edit option.
Step 4: Long press on a photo or video and drag it to the position you want (for example, first or last).
Step 5: Tap Save to apply the changes.

So basically, Instagram is giving users the flexibility to change the order of carousel content at any time without needing to delete or re-upload the post. Sometimes we upload a post and later want to change the order of the photos or videos. With this feature, you can reorder or even remove photos and videos in a carousel after posting, but you cannot add any new media to the existing post.
