Maluuba: Android based Siri Alternative now Available in India
Ever since Siri was launched by Apple, the personal voice assistant application has been on a roll. Google Voice and Micromax Aisha are among some of the other voice assistant software applications which were launched to compete with Siri in the mobile market. Now one more application, Maluuba is out in the market for global Androids mobile users. Though this was launched sometime back, however it was initially available only in few countries including US, Australia, UK and Ireland.
In a recent development, the company launched an international edition of Maluuba and now it is available in Google Play store and Vodafone store for download in India as well. However company sources have clarified that this is not the full version. As of now full version of this innovative voice assistant application is only available to users in US, UK, Ireland and Australia countries. International edition for other countries will have many features enabled with the help of local content partners. The current version of Maluuba will only work with English language, but company sources hinted at future development targeting at supporting other languages too.
CEO and co-founder of Maluuba, Sam Pasupalak expressed satisfaction over the fast growing subscriber base of this application and he confirmed that company is planning for a new round of financing up to $10 million for product enhancement and business expansion. It may be recalled that Maluuba had raised $2 million from Samsung Ventures some time back.
Company sources also stated that an API will be made available to third party developers to take advantage of natural language processing capabilities of Maluuba voice assistant platform. API will most probably be ready for launch by next month. As per the future product roadmap, company plans to add more functionalities and capabilities like restaurant reservation, shopping and sports alerts.
Listening to the funding and roadmap plans as revealed by the company officials, it is clear that the company is planning to give a head on competition to Siri and Google voice applications.
You can view the Maluuba International edition app in Google Play Store which can be downloaded for free
