Meta Now Lets You Translate and Dub Instagram and Facebook Reels in Hindi

Meta has expanded the Reels translation feature on Instagram and Facebook, now allowing creators to translate their Reels into Hindi and Portuguese before sharing them.

Meta had introduced English and Spanish translations back in August, making it a total of four supported languages now. Here's how does it work:

With Meta AI, creators can effortlessly translate and dub Reels, overcoming language barriers to reach more viewers worldwide. The multi-lingual translations between English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi enable creators to share content across major Reels markets on both Facebook and Instagram.

The translation feature is free and is accessible to Facebook creators with at least 1,000 followers and all public Instagram accounts in countries where Meta AI is available.

How Translations With Meta AI Work

Meta AI uses advanced voice-mimicking technology to translate Reels while preserving the creator's original tone and style. This means the translated version still sounds like the creator – just in a different language. Creators can also choose to enable a lip-syncing feature, which syncs the translated audio to the creator's mouth's movements, creating a more natural and engaging viewing experience.

It's also worth noting that every translated reel is clearly labelled with 'Translated with Meta AI', so you'll get to know when you're watching translated content. Users also have full control over it - they can turn translations on or off, or choose to watch Reels in their original language by selecting "Don't translate" under the audio and language section in the three-dot settings menu.
