Apple Music crosses a milestone of 30 million subscriptions
Apple Music now has more than 30 million subscribers and it has a growth rate of 15 million subscribers per year although Spotify is far ahead of it with more than 60 million subscribers.
Apple Music has crossed a milestone of 30 million subscriptions according to the latest reports. The music streaming service from Cupertino managed to add 10 million subscribers from December last year out of which 3 million users subscribed to the service in last four months after WWDC held in June 2017.
Although it may seem that Apple Music is picking up the pace, yet it is far behind Spotify's growth rate which manages to dominate over Apple with a huge difference. Apple Music has sustained a growth rate of 15 million subscribers per year, on the other hand, Spotify leads its trail with a difference of five million subscribers each year. Also, Spotify crossed the milestone of 60 million subscribers back in July this year. The numbers are clearly in favor of Spotify. Despite facing a tough competition Jimmy Iovine, who leads Apple Music, seems pretty optimistic.
In an interview with Billboard, Iovine stated, "I believe we're in the right place, we have the right people and the right attitude to not settle for what exists right now."
Iovine is also well informed about the entire scenario and did not fail to mention that there is a long way to go, "Just because we're adding millions of subscribers and the old catalog numbers are going up, that's not the trick. That's just not going to hold."
It feels good to know that Apple Music is in right hands. Moreover, relentless efforts are being put in from Cupertino to attain an exponential growth rate. Apple Music is trying to hold its current subscribers by providing content on artists for fans which includes documentaries and interviews. While advertisement campaigns are bringing in new subscribers in numbers.
