Google Phone receives a Beta program along with Spam call filter in its first update
Google Phone app latest update will not notify a user about a spam call, instead, it will directly go to the voicemail. Users can see the spam calls when they open the call history.
Google Phone application rolled out a basic spam call alert back in 2016. The update which was rolled out then warned the users of spam calls by highlighting the call in the bright red shade and the calls were labelled as 'Suspected Spam caller'. However, the spam calls didn't get blocked and they passed through leaving it up to the user to accept or decline the suspected spam calls.
As per some reports from the web, Google is planning to make some improvements on the spam call filter feature in the coming update. It is being reported that in the upcoming version of the Google Phone app, the users will not be notified about when they receive any suspected spam call. The call is said to go directly to the user's voicemail instead of ringing on the phone. However, users will be able to have a look at the spam calls when they open their call history and if in case the caller leaves any message it'll show on the voicemail tab.
Google, on the other hand, has not released any information on the official release of the new update which is to be rolled out to the Phone app. However, it is expected that the update will be available for the masses in the upcoming weeks.
For our readers who would like to get their hands on the new feature without any delay can sign up for the Google Phone Beta program which gives an early access to all the recent updates that will be rolled out with the updates to the Google Phone app. However, it is also being reported that the beta version of the application is quite unstable so users might experience some issue with the app in daily usage. That said about the Google Phone app update, we will keep you posted if there is any further information on the same, so stay tuned with us.
Also, in one of our previous articles related Google we covered that Google is at last working on fixing the issue with Android Oreo Multi-touch which has been troubling the users for quite some time now. The multi-touch issue in Android 8.1 Oreo resulted in irregular touch behaviour while using it with two or more finger's on the display. You can read the complete story here.
