Instagram Type Mode lets you post text-only Stories

    Instagram Stories that is a rip-off of the Snapchat feature has been quite popular. At the Q4 2017 earnings call, it was announced that the Instagram Stories has over 300 million monthly active users. In an attempt to take this growth further, the company has been adding many more ways for you to share your updates in the form of Stories. One such latest feature is the Type Mode.

    Instagram Type Mode lets you post text-only Stories

    So long, Instagram Stories has been focusing on photos and videos. With the latest Type Mode feature, you can post text-only Stories that will let you express your thoughts with text against colorful backdrops. As soon as you open your Instagram camera, you will be able to see Type apart from the usual modes under the record button. From here, you can choose Type and write what's in your mind and enhance the look of the Story with different font styles.

    Besides customizing the font style, you can also choose a different background color, highlight specific phrases or words, add a photo as the background or even insert GIF stickers as the ability was rolled out recently. The new styles can be used when adding text to a photo or video. As usual, the Type Mode stories will also vanish after 24 hours.

    Some time in mid-January, it was reported that Instagram is testing the text-only Status feature and now it has been introduced officially by the Facebook-owned platform. Such a feature is not new as it was already seen on WhatsApp and Facebook. A few months back, WhatsApp let users share text-only status messages along with a colorful gradient background.

    With the introduction of the Type Mode feature, the platform gives you a better experience with its features. The Type mode Stories will be included as a part of the latest update of both the Android and iOS versions of the app. Also, the update will bring the Carousel Ads too for Instagram Stories.

    It is a feature that will let advertisers have up to three pieces of media per Stories ad instead of one that was supported so long. This new feature of carousel ads for Instagram Stories will behave the same way as other Stories content and will appear as you go through the stories those are shared by others on the platform.
