Local Calls made from Ringo App in India might be temporarily blocked

The Ringo app had been launched for local, STD calls in India to make calls to any landline or mobile. Ringo fixed the rate to a 19 p/min in partnership wth their service providers. Ringo announced that it had paused all domestic calling services and suspended them temporarily for the reason that local operators may have blocked the service without any notice. Ringo said that the service is fully legal and is compliant with rules of DoT a TRAI regulations.

Ringo has said that it will necessary action to bring restore the serive but it does not have an ETA service. According to the company, users can continue to use the app to make international calls. The issue will take longer to get resoleved and the Company will refund any unutilized amounts that people might have paid.

Using the app, users could call any Mobile or landline and pay just 19p/min for a call. Also, the app does not need both parties to have the app installed on their Phones. However, International calls are still working and users can make international calls at very cheap rates.Currently users can make calls to USA, Bangladesh and UAE.
