Several 32-bit apps will stop working on Apple devices after iOS 11 release
Approximately 1,87,000 32-bit iOS apps will not be supported by iOS 11. There are more than 38,000 32-bit gaming apps that will not be supported on iOS 11.
The countdown for the iOS 11 release has already begun. After coming up with several updates for the developer's beta version as well as consumer's beta version of the Apple's iOS, the operating system is in its final days of release.
A big news has recently come up which will affect developers and users of nearly 1,87,000 32 bit iOS app. Once iOS 11 is installed on an Apple device approximately 1,87,000 32-bit apps will lay waste for iOS 11 users.
The report has been released by analysis firm Sensor Towers which claims that several 32-bit apps will no longer be compatible with iOS 11. Most of these apps are smartphone games. Sensor tower claims that nearly 38,000 gaming apps will be affected by the iOS 11 release. Other genres of apps that will be affected the most are education apps, entertainment apps, and lifestyle apps.
Although there are millions of apps on iOS and 1,87,000 apps do not seem a lot, but developers who have been working on these apps will certainly face a disruption in their business.
In January 2017, Apple started pushing out warning messages on several 32-bit apps when they were opened. The message read, "This app will not work with future versions of iOS. The developer of this app needs to update it to improve its compatibility."
You can go to Settings > General > About > Applications on your iOS devices to check if any 32-bit app is installed on your device.
Apple users who have an outdated model and are not eligible for iOS 11 update will be able to use the 32-bit app installed on their device.
