WhatsApp Android beta fixes the mysterious timestamp bug
Facebook-owned WhatsApp has released an Android beta version 2.18.109 which resolves the timestamp bug issue that was impacting some Android users. The bug was spotted in the WhatsApp beta testing.
Facebook-owned WhatsApp has finally released the Android beta 2.18.109 update which will resolve the issue of a Day bug. This bug was affecting Android users using the app on the Platform. WABetaInfo has confirmed the release of the update.
Earlier a report claimed that WhatsApp's latest beta version 2.18.109 was affected by the mysterious bug which was replacing the time stamps with ASCI codes. WhatsApp released the first beta version 2.18.109 on April 12.
As per the reports, the timestamps for the chats on the WhatsApp for Android was showing as "89ESTERDAY" and "84ODAY" instead of Yesterday and Today. The bug was changing the first alphabets of the timestamps with ASCII codes. The WhatsApp team pushed the update to fix the problem, as soon as the bug was reported online.
These tech companies like WhatsApp or Apple all are reliable on beta testers to iron out the bugs. That's how the WhatsApp beta testing programme comes in. And as a beta tester, you have the opportunity of trying the upcoming features before anyone else and give your feedback to WhatsApp about any bug. Then WhatsApp will use these feedbacks and improve the stability of the app before pushing the public update.
The company keeps on improving its features to sever users as good as they can. And now it has also introduced a new feature which will allow users to download old media content again even though its deleted from the phone.
The latest report states that the version between the 2.18.106 and 2.18.110 updates has got this new feature, which will let you download deleted media from the servers.
Earlier, when you receive an image, GIF, video, document or voice message sent on WhatsApp and delete the file in the WhatsApp folder, then you will not be able to download it again. But this is not the case now, as the app lets you download deleted media from its servers with the latest update. For now, this feature is available only for the Android users.
