Samsung Wallet Brings Digital Car Key Support to Mahindra Electric SUVs in India

Samsung is expanding its digital ecosystem into the automotive world. The company has rolled out Digital Car Key support for Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUVs, making it easier for Galaxy users in India to unlock, lock, and even start their vehicles straight from their phones.

This feature comes through Samsung Wallet, a built-in app on Galaxy smartphones that already houses digital IDs, payment methods, and smart keys. With this update, Mahindra becomes the first Indian automaker to integrate Samsung’s Digital Car Key into its lineup.

Bringing Digital Convenience to Driving

Once the Digital Car Key is set up, users can access their Mahindra eSUV without pulling out a physical key. They can also share the key with family members or friends for a set duration—useful when someone else needs to drive the car.

Samsung India’s Senior Director for Services and Apps, Madhur Chaturvedi, said the feature represents another step toward creating a connected experience within the Galaxy ecosystem. “Expanding access to Samsung Digital Car Key is part of our commitment to delivering connected and secure experiences,” he said.

Mahindra’s Take on the Partnership

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division, called the collaboration a milestone for the company’s electric lineup. “Our Electric Origin SUVs – XEV 9e and BE 6 – have captivated customers with their futuristic design. Partnering with Samsung adds another layer of convenience through Digital Car Key integration,” he said.

The two companies are pitching this as a move toward smarter, more secure, and effortless mobility.

Security and Privacy Features

Losing your phone doesn’t mean losing control of your car. If the device is misplaced or stolen, Samsung’s Find service allows users to remotely lock or erase all data, including the Digital Car Key. The feature is also protected by Samsung Knox, the company’s defense-grade security platform, along with biometric or PIN verification to ensure only the owner can access it.

Availability in India

Digital Car Key functionality will roll out soon for select Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs, including the XEV 9e and BE 6. The update will be available through Samsung Wallet for compatible Galaxy smartphones.
