Skype for Windows 8 Update Brings Support to Call Blocking Feature

Skype for Windows 8 has been updated several improvements and bug fixes. The new version is said to offer smoother functioning on microsoft's new operating system.

The new updated app brings a new feature, which allows user to block specific contacts and also remove and report contact requests as spam.

"To block a contact, select the person's name to open up the chat window. Bring up the command bar by swiping at the top or bottom of your screen (or right click), and select block. You may also choose whether you want to remove or report the contact request as spam" said Skype in a blog.

The update also brings several bug fixes, which is said to improve the overall quality of calls with Skype.

The bug which caused the outgoing video, to not display, after switching camera in the "Options" menu, has been fixed.

A bug which caused a wrong error message to appear when a call failed, has been fixed.

The new version version enables users to switch between calls on hold. Also, the app no longer crashes, after clicking on the "Info" menu option.

Apart from these changes few other bug fixes and performance enhancements have been implemented.

Softpedia reports that the new version has a bug which might cause, call answer attempts to fail, when Skype is running in the background.
