There are some useful apps that allow the users to edit their documents using their iPhone or iPad. But still there are no apps that will offer support to the complete office suite. The size of the iDevices are at present comfortable and useful as well to read, edit and create the office files.
Soonr Workplace is an app that allows the users to synchronize the files that are in the desktop to the online storage of Soone and then view them using either iPhone or iPad. This useful app is made available in the AppStore for free. The app is capable of handling about 40 different types of files and offers about 500 MB of online storage free for the users.
Right now the users have to complete the iPhone registration process which is the hub to get started with the Soonr desktop client. This registration process is very simple and basic. This desktop client is made available for both Windows and Mac as well and it allows the users to choose the files that have to be synced with the servers of Soonr. It also provides an overview on the online storage space that is used and about the recent updates on status.
There is also a web interface in Soonr that helps users in managing their documents. The interface is designed keeping the users in mind. The dashboard offers the users with the best updates such as recently added folders and files and the printed documents. Users can browse through their files and also view the files in the traditional file browser.
The users who use lot of files will definitely like the Search function in the Soonr as it allows them to search within their files. The app serves to be very easy when it comes to sharing of files. The users can share the files with the other users of Soonr directly or by sending an email or a SMS that is accompanied with the invitation. The users can also attach the files to emails and forward them.
The other very useful feature of Soonr is remote printing and as the name indicates, users can avail the facility of printing the files remotely. The Soonr desktop client will identify the printer of the user's computer automatically. Soonr is definitely one of the useful apps in the productivity section.
One lacking feature that would make the app more useful if present is the bookmarking ability for the folders that are frequently used. This feature would have reduced the time and efforts taken by the users to every time move to the directory to access the required file. Another lacking feature in the Soonr app is the integration to the contacts app in iPhone.
It will be nice if there is an option to upload the files and folders to Soonr by simple sending a mail to it. This feature will be useful for the users to get access to any document that is not supported by iPhone's mail client. This app is now compatible with the iPad also and it offers features like integrated editing in it.
