Twitter Updated: New Features in Android, iPhone and iPad App

Twitter app for iPad, iPhone and Android has been updated with enhanced features. Since 2011, there had been no major update in the Twitter app for iPhone and Android and hence this update is being seen with huge interest. The major attraction with the latest update is the inclusion of a new profile feature allowing users to add header photos and photo streams on profiles. The new feature has been designed to display images people have shared on Twitter.

For users having Twitter for iPad, the new interface features added options such as:

Home, Connect, Discover and Me

These four features have been moved towards the left portion of the app screen. Another improvement includes expansion of tweets by simply tapping on it. This will display the summary of photos or videos if there are any. Linked web page is now smoothly revealed up on tapping the tweet. The ‘Me’ page now displays the complete profile of the user. Scrolling down towards the ‘Me’ page will reveal the recent photos and tweets. A new ‘Who to follow’ section is also now included in the ‘Activity’ Page.

For users having the new Twitter for Android app, they can enjoy the following enhancements:

  • A new pinch-to-zoom functionality on the photos making it easier for users to zoom the photos with just the tap of a finger

  • Android users of the app will also be able to browse through new search suggestions with added categories including; People, Topics and Hashtags
  • Users can now decide whether to accept or deny the follower requests with a new improved protected management option included in the latest version of the Twitter app.
