According to wabetainfo, WhatsApp is now rolling out a new feature for beta testers that lets them filter their media files. With this, users can now explore a redesigned version of the "Media, Links, and Documents" section, which can be accessed from the chat info screen.

The updated interface will give users a clearer overview of all shared content within a conversation, but it will include some filters to simplify content discovery. When you open the redesigned "Media, Links, and Documents" section, all shared content from the conversation is displayed, regardless of type. The overview still displays every kind of media-photos, videos, documents, and links-organized together in a single grid.

Moreover, the Meta-owned instant messaging app will add filters at the top of the screen for quick access to specific media types. The available filters will include "Photos", "Videos", "Documents", and "Links". In addition to these, a new "Stickers" filter will also be available, letting users easily locate all stickers shared in the chat.

Availability

As noted, this feature is now available for some beta testers. So even after updating to the latest version, the feature might not appear for you. WhatsApp will be gradually rolling it out for everyone. However, there is no official info regarding the rollout timeline.
