According to a report by WABetaInfo, the instant messaging app is currently working on a feature for the iOS version that will allow users to schedule messages in their chats. The report claims users will be able to type a message and choose a specific date and time when it will be sent automatically. Scheduling a message can be helpful for reminders, birthday wishes, and other important updates that you do not want to forget.

Users will need to type a message, select a date and time, and then schedule it. However, the report does not mention where the feature can be accessed from. It will most likely be available through the three-dot menu in the chat.

However, the report reveals that after a message is scheduled, WhatsApp will display it in a dedicated section within the chat info screen. Here, users will be able to view the number of scheduled messages and access options to manage them. Users can also delete any scheduled message at any time before it is sent. Doing so will not send any notification to the recipient's device, since the message is removed before delivery.

It is also worth noting that users on WhatsApp for iOS can already schedule messages using the Shortcuts app, though it is less convenient than a built-in feature. With the built-in WhatsApp feature, iOS users will be able to schedule a message in both individual chats and group chats. At the moment, there is no news regarding availability for channels.

Moreover, Business Broadcasts already allow users to schedule messages, though it is a paid feature. However, the new scheduled messages feature on personal accounts will enable all users to set messages to be sent automatically for free. Lastly, the feature is currently under development and is expected to be available in a future update.
