Windows Phone gets Skype app soon

Microsoft owns Skype but still it has not implemented the application into the Windows Phone operating system. The video calling and instant messaging app is now expected to come soon to Windows Phone.

Rick Osterloh, the Vice President of Microsoft's Skype section told during an interview at the CES 2012 that took place last week at Las Vegas that the company is working effectively on a product that will soon come to Windows Phone.

The Skype apps are already available on the other smartphones like the ones powered by Android platform and also on Apple iPhone and iPad. The only mobile platform this is left untouched by Skype is Windows Phone.

The market analysts believe that the Skype version for the Windows Phone platform will be revealed by Microsoft at the Mobile World Congress that will take place next month. Also an integration will be launched during the launch of the Apollo version of the platform in few months.

Osterloh also added that the Skype integrations will be made to the Xbox gaming console and Windows 8 platform soon and that the company is also working forward to integrate Facebook contacts to the interface of Skype.
