Chinese-based Xiaomi is now the third largest smartphone distributor in the world. Xiaomi, which is known for its ultra-affordable, kick-ass product has gained market share in and outside of China. One of the most successful handsets under Xiaomi's tag is of course the Redmi 1S. Until now, Xiaomi has conducted around 11 flash sales and one open sale, with another flash sale yet to go on the market today at 2PM. However, Lei Jun's company, opted E-retail methods to sell its product in India via online retail stores Flipkart.
Here comes the best part for the Redmi 1S users. According to rumors surfaced, an unofficial Android Lollipop 5.0.1 has been spotted on the official MIUI.com website. Although, its not related to MIUI in anyways, its just the unofficial stock Android offered by the Google.
The so-called Redmi 1S Android L Mokee ROM is in its beta version and the original version of that update is said to be launched in 10 days and the ROM actually comes pre-rooted. Reiterating the specifications, Redmi 1S sports a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels which translates 312ppi. Redmi 1S is clocked at 1.6GHz quad-core snapdragon 400 processor and Adreno 305 GPU alongside 1GB of RAM.
It employs 8MP rear camera, 1.6MP front snapper and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on top of MIUI 5. Further, it carries a dimension of 137 x 69 x 9.9mm and weighs around 158grams. Priced at Rs 5,999, this dual SIM smartphone is juiced with a 2000mAh battery and is available exclusively on e-commerce site Flipkart.
