BenQ's New Classroom Display Can Generate Lesson Plans and Quizzes Using AI
BenQ has launched the RP05 interactive display in India, targeting schools and educational institutions looking to add more AI-powered tools to classrooms. Available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 86-inch sizes, the display combines an interactive whiteboard with a suite of AI features designed for lesson planning, classroom engagement, and content creation.
The company says the RP05 is built around on-device AI processing, allowing several AI-powered features to run directly on the display without relying entirely on cloud services.

AI Features Take Center Stage
The biggest focus of the RP05 is its AI toolkit for educators.
Teachers can use AI Lesson to generate lesson plans and teaching outlines, while AI Quiz can create quizzes and practice questions based on classroom content. There's also an Ask AI feature that allows teachers and students to ask questions directly from the display without switching between apps.
BenQ has also added Camera Gesture controls, which use the board's built-in camera to recognize hand gestures. This allows teachers to navigate slides and content from different parts of the classroom without returning to the display.
Another feature called Lasso Search lets users circle text or images on screen to retrieve related information instantly.
Built Around On-Device Processing
Unlike many AI-powered tools that depend heavily on internet connectivity, BenQ says several of the RP05's AI functions run locally on the device.
The display is powered by a dedicated 10 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU) alongside a MediaTek Genio 720 chipset. It also comes with 16GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.
According to the company, local processing allows AI tools to remain responsive while reducing dependence on cloud-based services.
Whiteboard Features Get AI Upgrades
The RP05 ships with BenQ's EZWrite 6.0 whiteboard software, which includes several AI-assisted tools.
One of them, EZMath, can convert handwritten equations and diagrams into digital content while also performing calculations. Teachers can also translate content into 59 languages with a single tap and convert on-screen text into spoken audio using the built-in text-to-speech feature.
Wireless screen sharing is supported through InstaShare 2, which includes an AI Guardian feature that scans shared content and blocks inappropriate images or videos before they appear on the classroom display.
Focus on Classroom Health and Security
BenQ has also included several features aimed at classroom safety and device management.
The display comes with an integrated air quality sensor that can monitor CO2, PM2.5, and TVOC levels in real time. It also includes blue light management certifications and germ-resistant coatings on the display surface and accessories.
On the software side, the RP05 runs Android 15 and includes Google EDLA certification with Google Play Protect support. Schools can remotely manage devices, deploy updates, and monitor usage through BenQ's Device Management System.
Teachers can also log in using QR codes and access their settings across different boards through the company's Account Management System.
Audio, Connectivity, and Availability
The RP05 features a 70W audio setup consisting of two 25W speakers and a 20W subwoofer. It also includes an eight-microphone array and supports up to 50 simultaneous touch points on both Android and Windows devices.
Connectivity options include USB-C with 100W Power Delivery, HDMI 2.0 ports, and support for extending content to a second display.
The BenQ RP05 will be available across India from June 25 in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 86-inch variants. Pricing starts at Rs 2,00,000, including taxes.
