Elon Musk’s Grok Can Now Watch and Summarize What You See
Amid ongoing discussions around the misuse of artificial intelligence to create explicit images of users without their consent, Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok has announced a new capability. The chatbot, developed by Musk's AI company xAI, can now watch videos and summarise them for users.
Elon Musk's Grok Can Now Tell You What You're Looking At
According to a recent post by Elon Musk on X, Grok is no longer limited to answering text-based queries. With its new video mode, the AI can listen to and analyse what's playing on a user's screen and deliver a concise, detailed summary in real time.

In a recent post, one user named DogeDesigner shared that Grok was able to watch a 30-minute interview, study and analyse it, and then provide a comprehensive summary in just around 36 seconds. "Pretty wild that it can handle long-form videos like that for you," the post added.
Using the new video mode, users can turn on their camera, and Grok's voice feature will explain what it sees and hears on the screen. Musk shared a demo video showcasing how the feature works, demonstrating Grok's ability to interpret visual and audio content simultaneously.
As AI continues to evolve rapidly, features like Grok's video summarisation underline both the immense potential and the responsibility that comes with deploying powerful AI systems at scale.
With this update, Grok joins the growing list of AI tools moving beyond text to become fully multimodal assistants, capable of seeing, hearing, and understanding complex content. However, the announcement also comes at a time when AI companies are facing increased scrutiny over ethical concerns, especially around consent, privacy, and misuse of generative technologies.
