Gemini Can Now Create 30-Second Music Tracks – Here's How to Use

Google is now allowing users to generate music directly on Gemini. Powered by Lyria 3, the chatbot can now create 30-second music tracks for you. It uses custom cover art generated by Nano Banana, making it easy to quickly share with friends by downloading or simply clicking the share link.

Step 1: Open Gemini on the web and click on the Music option.

Step 2: You can either choose a track to remix from the available options or describe a specific genre, mood, inside joke, or memory to create a unique track. Gemini can generate music with lyrics or instrumental audio that matches your vibe.

Step 3: Similarly, you can also upload a photo or video and ask Gemini to compose a track based on the content. For example, you can use a prompt like, "Use these photos to create a track about my dog Duncan on a hike in the woods."

Google also says that music generation with Lyria 3 is designed for original creative expression, not for mimicking existing artists. If the prompt mentions a specific artist, the chatbot will take it as broad creative inspiration and generate a track that reflects a similar style or mood.

Lyria 3 is now available in the Gemini app for users aged 18 and above in English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese. The feature can be accessed on desktop, with availability on the mobile app expected over the next few days. It's also worth noting that Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra users will also get higher usage limits.
