Google Is Reportedly Preparing to Launch Nano Banana 2 Flash AI Model Soon
Google is reportedly close to launching its next-gen image generation and editing model dubbed Nano Banana 2 Flash. While there is no official word regarding this, recent code references suggest an announcement could arrive in the coming weeks of December.
The Nano Banana 2 Flash version is expected to be a follow-up to the current Flash image generation and editing model. It is said to be positioned as part of Google’s wider AI line-up, aimed at serving users who need fast visuals and edits without heavy system demands.
Google Nano Banana 2 Flash AI Expected to Launch Soon
According to a report from TestingCatalog, Google seems to be preparing a new Gemini-related launch centred on Nano Banana 2 Flash. Earlier internal names linked to this family included Ketchup for the Nano Banana 2 Pro model and Mayo, which now appears tied to the Flash variant.
TestingCatalog noted that early access users saw Nano Banana 2 Flash create sample images very close to Nano Banana 2 Pro. The report suggested near-identical quality, while operations could run at a lower cost. This combination may allow Google to offer wider access without raising spending for large workloads.
The Nano Banana 2 Flash AI model will be accessible inside the existing Gemini ecosystem, either supporting or replacing current tools. This would appeal to individuals and organisations managing large-scale image tasks, who want consistent output while keeping budgets in check. As noted, Google is yet to confirm about its upcoming image generation model.
