Google launches Gemini 4 Argon globally: Here is what it can do

Google has just launched Gemini 4 Argon globally. This is a new AI model designed to handle complex tasks such as coding, cybersecurity and scientific research. The tech giant, in a blog post, said that the model can work through lengthy tasks, use multiple tools and help professionals solve problems that would otherwise take considerable time. It is now available to developers, businesses and eligible subscribers through Google's AI platforms. From helping engineers write better code to supporting scientific discoveries, Gemini 4 Argon is basically for people who need more than basic AI chat features. Curious? Here's everything you need to know about it.

What can Gemini 4 Argon do?

According to Google, Gemini 4 Argon is built to handle tasks that require several steps instead of answering simple questions. It can help with software development, financial work, legal tasks and scientific research.

“Whether you are analyzing a complex business report, creating a deck, or building a 3D model, Argon brings frontier intelligence to your everyday workflow, turning your ambitious ideas into real projects and outputs you can use,” reads Google’s blog post.

The company also claims that the model ranked first on the Vals Index, a benchmark that tests how well AI models perform across different industries.

Google has also shared some details about how its engineers are using the model. The tech giant claims that engineers working with Argon through Google Antigravity increased AI-assisted code submissions by over 35 per cent, while reducing code rollbacks by nearly a third.

The model has also helped Google's Chrome team complete a major code restructuring project across hundreds of files in weeks. According to the company, the same task would otherwise have taken months.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai also highlighted the model's coding skills and ability to use different tools. He shared an example of Argon creating an animated 3D view from a raw Pixel design file. The model reportedly made repeated changes to its code and checked its results 1,000 times to improve the final output.

Pricing, availability and other details

Google has made Gemini 4 Argon available through the Gemini API, AI Studio and Google Antigravity for eligible users. Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can also access it through the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search.

The introductory pricing starts at $2 (around Rs 175) per million input tokens and $10 (around Rs 875) per million output tokens. Input tokens are the information sent to the AI model, while output tokens are the responses it generates. Google is also offering a 95 per cent discount on cached input tokens, which could help developers reduce costs when working with repeated information.

The company is also offering six months of free access to the highest usage tier on Google Antigravity for 10,000 scientists, subject to eligibility and selection.

Additionally, Google says it has added safeguards to protect against harmful requests and hidden instructions in websites, emails and code. The company also claims that Gemini 4 Argon helped researchers identify new enzyme designs that showed activity in laboratory tests and helped security teams find and fix vulnerabilities in government and healthcare systems.
