Google has unveiled enhancements to its AI Mode in Search, now accessible in 180 additional countries and territories. However, it remains limited to English and excludes EU nations. The AI Mode introduces agentic capabilities, initially focusing on restaurant reservations. This feature will soon extend to local service appointments and event tickets.

Users can inquire about dinner reservations with specific preferences such as party size, date, time, location, and cuisine type. AI Mode searches various reservation platforms for real-time availability that matches these criteria. It then provides a curated list of options with available slots. Once a decision is made, users receive a direct link to the booking page for easy reservations.

AI Mode's Expanding Features

Google collaborates with partners like OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, Booksy, among others to facilitate this service. This experience is part of the "Agentic capabilities in AI Mode" experiment available through Google Search Labs for US subscribers of Google AI Ultra.

Participants in the US who have joined the AI Mode experiment in Labs will notice search results tailored to their dining preferences. This aims to help users discover new restaurants and cafes that align with their tastes. For instance, if you ask for a quick lunch spot, AI Mode considers your past interactions and searches in Maps and Search to offer more relevant suggestions.

Enhanced Sharing Functionality

A new Share feature allows users in the US to share anything within AI Mode effortlessly by tapping the Share button. Google believes this is "particularly helpful for tasks you want to collaborate on," such as planning trips or birthday parties. Users can delete shared links whenever they choose.
